Oral Bible Translator Trainer

Faith Comes By Hearing has a full-time position available for an Oral Bible Translator Trainer who will assist in implementing Render, an oral Bible translation software; train others on both the software and oral Bible translation, as well as on how to launch Render projects; and contribute to the overall training strategy in launching Render projects around the world.

Responsibilities include:
Primary Responsibilities:
 Help develop, continually inform, and implement FCBH’s training strategy on both oral Bible translation and the Render software
 Participate in and lead training sessions for partner organizations both on- and off-site, including via videoconferencing, at the organizational and individual level
 Serve as trainer for Render projects on both the oral Bible translation approach and Render software for partner organizations as needed, with the goal of increasing and releasing capacity
 Provide ongoing training for projects as needed
 Train other trainers to launch projects; provide ongoing support for other trainers
 Create and maintain documentation of Render training processes and materials
 Conduct Render software demonstrations as needed
Additional Responsibilities:
 Provide project data to the Render Project Coordinator and Render Technical Support Specialist for the purpose of documentation
 Help maintain Render database for ministry use in cooperation with Render Project Coordinator and Database Developer as needed
 Attend meetings with partners
 Provide hospitality services to guests, including tours and local transportation as needed
 Participate in appropriate ongoing professional development
 Assist with other duties as needed

Qualifications include:
Required:
 Missions-minded with a heart for reaching all people with the Word of God
 Three or more years of Bible translation training or experience
 Two or more years of orality/Bible storying experience
 Bachelor’s degree in pertinent field or relevant equivalent life experience (e.g. linguistics, international studies)
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural skills
 Experience and demonstrated ability in training others
 Well-developed organizational and administrative skills
 Demonstrated good judgment and analytical abilities
 PC proficiency in all MS Office applications
 Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 2-3 weeks at a time, approximately 50% of the time
Preferred:
 Fluent in another language
