Title: Director of Pastor Development
Reports To: Senior Vice President of Field Ministry
Position Status: Full Time; Support-Raised
Salary: To Be Determined

OVERVIEW:
The Director of Pastor Development leads the program team, strategically aligning personnel, resources and ministry strategy to foster disciple-making movements among oral cultures. This Director is responsible for growing, training and shepherding the Pastor Development team while expanding our network of ministry partners around the world. The Director of Pastor Development works closely with national and international field leadership, as well as peers in Spoken’s Coaching and Oral Bible Translation departments, to ensure synergy and shared learning.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop Collaborative Plans and Implementation Strategies with Regional Directors
• Support Regional Directors with constructing plans to initiate and expand programs
• Explore expansion opportunities into new regions across the globe
• Work with CDE Director to incorporate community development content in each region

Build Strong Staff and Partner Relationships
• Appoint Regional Directors for each ministry field
• Train Regional Directors on Spoken vision, mission and methodology
• Communicate regularly with Regional Directors and address program challenges
• Guide Regional Directors in personal and professional development
• Deepen partner relationships in conjunction with Regional Directors

Allocate Program Resources and Support
• Collaborate with Regional Directors to establish program budgets and timelines
• Develop appropriate training materials and strategies to equip Regional Directors
• Assist Regional Directors in monitoring and evaluating programmatic goals

Guide Communication with Organizational Stakeholders
• Promote the vision, goals and strategies used by Spoken with partnering churches and foundations
• Work with Regional Directors to prepare semi-annual country specific Board reports
• Review and approve Foundation proposals and program reports developed by Regional Directors
• Facilitate sharing of field reports within the organization and to local donors

Other Duties as Requested

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
• Understands and articulates the purpose and vision for Pastor Development Programs at Spoken
• Represents Spoken’s programs and ministry philosophy at conferences and other public venues
• Shepherds Regional Directors and field staff with great care, focusing first on people
• Provides reports, data and proposals to key stakeholders and Spoken staff as needed
• Able to travel internationally a minimum of 4-6 times annually
• Able to raise personal support

QUALIFICATIONS:
• 5+ years experience in cross-cultural missions environments
• 5+ years experience in leadership development and/or orality
• 7+ years experience in leadership role
• Is fully aware of and supports the purposes and vision of Spoken

SPIRITUAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Completely surrendered to the Lordship of Jesus Christ
• Bearing witness of Christian character in daily life
• A member in good standing of a local church
• Agreement with the Spoken statement of faith

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Graduate degree or equivalent experience preferred, preferably within discipline
